Nearly one year ago I branched out in my artistic endeavors and connected with an amazing bunch of women, and together we collaborated to create The Studio at Contempo — an inventive artist group that teaches classes at Contempo Artisan Boutique. In the year that has passed, I’ve reveled in getting to know these talented artists. Even more so, I’ve enjoyed getting to know their kind and giving souls.
So I was thrilled this fall to capture a moment in time for Amy Frank, of Mindfully Made Studios, and her brood. Amy is one of the most friendly, giving people I’ve met since moving to State College. From the moment we met, she treated me as if we’d been friends since childhood. It may seem surprising to say, as she talks and gestures a-mile-a-minute, but Amy is the epitome of grace. Someone who makes everyone feel welcome and included. It shows in her warm smile, in how she treats other, and particularly in her art. No matter what she creates, it is imbued with hope, joy and kindness — and a spirit of giving to make the world a better place.
Spending a little time with her family was a privilege. So fun to leave our cares behind and have fun!
